Rotterdam, October 2025 – As the maritime industry accelerates its digital and green transformation, Onboard is strengthening its leadership team to meet growing global demand for its platform. The company has appointed Sander Zwanenburg as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), marking the next step in its mission to help shipowners turn data into real operational impact.

A strong track record in maritime technology

Sander brings a unique mix of technical insight and commercial experience in the maritime and offshore sector. With a background in Naval Architecture and Technology Management, he has held senior business development roles at several maritime technology companies. He led the commercial team at Ampelmann, the Dutch offshore access pioneer, and most recently served as CCO at a deep-tech company focused on condition monitoring for the offshore wind industry.

“At Onboard we believe that technology alone doesn’t create value — the way it’s implemented and used does,” says Florus Wilming, Co-Founder of Onboard. “That’s why we are thrilled to welcome Sander. His approach fits perfectly with Onboard’s philosophy: he takes the time to understand how each client works — their people, processes, and challenges — and then connects technology to those realities in a way that delivers real, measurable impact.”

Proven impact across the industry

“I’ve always been passionate about maritime innovation that delivers real value,” says Sander Zwanenburg. “The industry is in the middle of digital and green transformation, and Onboard is already proving its impact with leading clients such as Anglo Eastern, Boluda, P&O, Wagenborg, Acta Marine, VT Shipping, and Peterson. I’m excited to build on that momentum and help bring these results to even more fleets around the world.”

Extending Onboard’s global reach

“Sander’s arrival marks an important step in Onboard’s next phase — expanding our international presence and working closely with customers to explore what more is possible with the technology we’ve developed,” says Erwin Strik, Co-Founder of Onboard.
